So by now you know that I love to read and maybe you also know that I am inquisitive (okay nosey) about people.
Right what combines these 2 things perfectly ?
Yep , blogs (give yourself a gold star , you're SO clever).
I always thought blogs were a waste of time , they were described to me as 'an online diary' so my thought was 'why the hell would anyone put their diary online ? I couldn't do that , I'd be sectioned within minutes the random stuff I write down daily!!'
But then I read a few that friends had started writing and I realised that, not so much a diary , they were more a series of little insights into other peoples lives. PERFECT !!
I now have a list of blogs that I make sure I check out as soon as a new post is written . Some are funny , some are touching and some are a clever combination of the two but the thing that they all have in common (in my opinion) is that they are from people writing exactly what is in their mind, maybe not always things that they could say out loud but that they feel comfortable writing down. Almost cathartic in fact.
Here is a list of some that I recommend that you check out :
https://www.nickkingsworld.com/
Nick is an adoptive Dad in a same sex relationship. His blogs are about the day to day goings on with J (his Husband), 7 & 3 (the children) and not forgetting #grumpydeafgrandad (star of the blogs)
Nick usually writes 2 blogs daily , one about the adoption of their children , often very moving and one that is always funny about day to day life. If I don't read any other blogs in a day I always read these.
http://www.ideas4dads.net/
Tom is a happily married father of 3 girls ,Poppet (4) , Dumpling (2) and Pumpkin (a few weeks) - not their real names.
His blog is a mixture of photos , reviews and stories of family life , including the amazing one about him delivering Pumpkin himself . At home . On his own !!!
It's an honest account of life with children , the highs and the lows.
http://adadcalledspen.wordpress.com/
Spencer is a former 'stay at home Dad' who has gone through a divorce and is no longer a SAHD .
Spencer's blogs are about his children , his life , his battles with depression and recently his relationship with his Mother.
I confess to shedding a few tears when going through some of his posts , especially his 'letters to....' ones
Spencer is not afraid to write in total honesty , the emotion in his blogs is raw and true.

Sometimes sweary , sometimes rude , sometimes sentimental , sometimes funny . The blogs that Dusty writes have it all. 40 and Single (as the name suggests)is the words of a man who thought life was sorted and then , well , everything changed and he had to learn to look at life and maybe himself in a different way.

Not updated enough , but this is Steph writing about being a teacher , those funny things that kids say but also some 'proper writing' posts !! Again funny in places , poignant in others

Lynsey writes reviews mainly but this blog is a must for Big Brother watchers. During the runs of Big Brother she does a nightly blog on what has happened during the day in her particular , slightly cynical , slightly sweary way . Usually she says exactly what everyone else is thinking!!
So there you go , those are the blogs that I enjoy , check them out , maybe you will like them too xxx

You sound ...errrm ...different
I've always had a good imaginations. Even as a child , when reading a book , I could vividly imagine the setting , what the characters looked like and , most importantly to me ,what they sounded like.I had their voices in my head as I read , helping to bring books to life.
The only time that backfires is when a favourite book is made into a film , for example the recent casting of Christian Grey from the 50 shades series . Well in MY mind he IS Ian Somerhalder , sparkling blue eyes , cheeky smile , tanned lithe torso ... errrmmm , *bites lip , where was I ?
Yep back to it , the casting of that other bloke ,( not even bothered about him now) isn't right lol
It will come as no surprise that I even give my Twitter followers voices, I read their tweets in the voices I imagine that they have in real life . But again this sometimes doesn't work out right !!
It's not often that you actually get to hear what Tweeters sound like but I do know some of them from video or voice clips they post , Audioboo posts or phone conversations and I HAVE been surprised.
One who I was led to believe had a mad jumbled up west country burr turns out to be posh , another who I thought would be deep & gruff actually has the most soothing voice ever and another who swears has 'not a trace of scouse' well lets just say I have to disagree !!
Others who tweet like they are chirpy cockney girls about town sound like they are more suited to Downton than Eastenders and there are a few who I have thought to be southerners when in fact they are from way further than the Watford Gap.
It just goes to show that my imagination might be good , but not always accurate , just ask Mr Somerhalder !!!
Oh & if you have ever wondered ( not likely) what I actually sound like , you can hear some rubbish rambles from me here xxx
