Joking Joaquin ?

Its awards season for the entertainment industry again , time for all of the actors , directors , producers etc etc etc to be applauded for how wonderful they are.

Its also the chance for them to get up on a stage and deliver their important message to the world and one actor that has been particularly vociferous this season is Joaquin Phoenix

I have seen 'The Joker' , he is brilliant in it and deserves to win all the 'Best Actor' awards he is getting
However he seems to have a new @passion' every time he wins an award
First it was climate change , (it's okay the world is safe, hes wearing the same tux for the whole awards season , just don't mention the dry cleaning chemicals will you !!)

Yesterday at the BAFTAs it was diversity in the awards that he was preaching about.
Yes , this year the award nominees are predominantly white and male but could this maybe be (shock horror) because this year the best work has been done by white males ??

Surely any actors , directors etc want to be judged on the strength of their work , not on the shade of their skin or what gender they are ? If I was a coloured actor and was nominated next year for an award I actually would be thinking "Am I the best in this category , or am I included to provide diversity?"
The awards should be based entirely on the best work , nothing else and that's that

With Joaquin highlighting a different cause at every awards ceremony , does this water down the messages that he is trying to give ? Would he be better to concentrate on one cause that he is truly the most passionate about , for instance his veganism and the treatment of animals ,rather than lots of issues ?
Do people tune out when they see him approaching the stage thinking "here he goes again" so every message he tries to convey is basically ignored?
Lets see what he decides to say when he accepts his Oscar in a few weeks time xx
